Bastille Gradient and Vintage Roses

Hey there my lovelies and Happy Bastille Day...
Sorry its been so long since I last shared.

One of my favourite polishes is Bastille my Heart by OPI, being that 14 July is Bastille Day I had to do a look using this polish so I thought I would try my hand at gradients and vintage roses.  I have done gradients before but practice is always good and it was my first attempt at vintage roses.

I did the gradient fingers first and while they dried I watched a few youtube videos on how to do the roses...  and here's my look;

And the process;

from bare nails I added a base coat as I'm trying to strengthen and protect my nails

applied my base coat colours

dabbed on black polish for gradient look

I cleaned up my nails and started painting on the roses on my accent nails.  I let them dry and then put a top coat on all my nails.  Unfortunately I was so excited I didn't take pictures as I went..

I haven't cleaned up my nails too well..  I'm still not good at getting polish all over myself.  I am stoked with how this look came out and hope that it last for days and days.

I can't wait to do this look again with different colours.

Hope you like this look.

Paparazzi Nails

Hey There, well its been disgracefully too long since I posted a new nail look.  Sorry!!  And this is a quick post as well.

I had a yellow sparkly gel manicure by Monaco nails in preperation for going to the Lady
Gaga concert.  I went to her third show in Auckland and saw, with my own eyes, Lady
Gaga getting donked on the head.  The wonderful trooper that she is finished in spectacular style to the very end.  Amazing concert and I so will be going to her next one, hell or high water.

So this is my look inspired by her outfit in her Paparazzi music video.

Promise to be back real soon!!

Purple Blitz

Hey there,..  its been a bit longer than I intended but its actually difficult to do nail looks on top of a gel polish that is growing out.  I tried a couple and they didn't work out so well.

This is my first attempt at using tape on my own nails to do a look.  I'm so impatient and it hasn't come out well.. but as I managed to touch it up enough that it turned out okay i've gone with it.
So here it is,...

I was excited about doing this and forgot to take a photo of my first colour.
I put tape on my nails and made each finger slightly different and then applied the second colour.
I was too eager and didn't let my base coat dry enough so when pulling the tape off the lighter colour was damaged and bumpy.

As the lines weren't clean I used a glittery striper to devide the colours.

I cleaned off my fingers and then put the top coats on.
Most of my fingers have a normal top coat but for my forefinger I used Essie Matte About You

So thats all for now...  and I promise to try and figure out how to take better photos...   :)

Catch ya next time  :)

Glittering Garland Gradient

How is it going everyone?  Actually, being my first blog I feel like I'm talking to myself.  I'm starting a blog to put all my nail designs in one place and to keep notes on my attempts to help me get better at doing my nails and hopefully I entertain people on the way   : )

I'm saying it from the beginning that I make no claims that the designs in my blog are unique or original.  I'm not good at creating the ideas, I just like trying out designs I find.

My first blog is attempting the tricky gradient look.  So here we go,..

This what I have put my look on top of.  This is a gel manicure from Monaco.  So I haven't started from a clean nail base, which will affect the final look.
I applied a light green polish

... and then I sponged on my second colour in two layers, starting closer to the edge with the second coat.   Ending with a top coat to get my final look.
What I used for this look.  On the left that is China Glaze Glittering Garland

Not too bad for my first attempt and doing a gradient look.  :D

(I'm totally feeling like a crazy woman talking to herself)
